Terms & Conditions

Event Details

Dates: 18–20 September 2026

By booking and participating in the SCM x Adventure Garage Northern Rivers Adventure Tour, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions.

1. Booking & Payment

• A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to secure your place.

• The remaining balance must be paid before the tour departure unless otherwise agreed in writing.

• Your booking is not confirmed until the deposit has been received.

2. Cancellations

Participant Cancellations

• More than 14 days before departure: Deposit is non-refundable.

• Within 14 days of departure: No refunds will be issued unless your place can be filled by another participant.

• No refunds will be provided for late arrivals, early departures, or unused inclusions.

Tour Cancellation

SCM and Adventure Garage reserve the right to cancel or postpone the tour due to severe weather, natural disasters, government restrictions, insufficient participant numbers, or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control. In this event, participants will be offered either a transfer to a future tour or a refund of payments made. SCM and Adventure Garage are not responsible for any additional costs incurred by participants, including travel, accommodation or other personal expenses.

3. Rider Requirements

Participants must:

• Hold a current and valid motorcycle licence appropriate for the motorcycle being ridden.

• Ride a road-registered, mechanically sound motorcycle suitable for adventure riding.

• Ensure their motorcycle is registered and legally permitted for use on public roads.

• Be responsible for maintaining appropriate motorcycle insurance. Comprehensive insurance is strongly recommended.

• Wear appropriate protective riding gear at all times, including:

  • AS/NZS-approved motorcycle helmet

  • Riding jacket

  • Riding pants

  • Motorcycle gloves

  • Motorcycle boots

SCM and Adventure Garage reserve the right to refuse participation if a rider or motorcycle is considered unsafe.

4. Insurance

Participants are solely responsible for arranging and maintaining their own motorcycle insurance and any personal travel or accident insurance they consider appropriate.

SCM and Adventure Garage accept no responsibility for loss of or damage to participants' motorcycles, riding gear or personal belongings during the tour. Participants are also responsible for any costs associated with motorcycle recovery, towing, repairs or replacement parts that may arise during or after the event.

5. Riding Conditions

The tour includes a variety of terrain, including:

• Sealed roads

• Gravel roads

• Forestry trails

• Beach access (where permitted)

• Uneven and off-road terrain

Participants must ride within their own ability and obey all road rules and instructions from the tour leaders.

While off-road riding guidance and support will be provided, each rider remains fully responsible for the safe operation of their motorcycle at all times.

6. Support Vehicle

A dedicated support vehicle will accompany the tour carrying:

• Camping equipment

• Surfboards

• Fuel

• Basic tools and spare parts

• An onboard mechanic

Every reasonable effort will be made to assist with mechanical issues; however, repairs cannot be guaranteed, and participants remain responsible for the ongoing condition and repair of their own motorcycle.

7. Health & Medical

By participating, you confirm that:

• You are medically fit to undertake the tour.

• You have disclosed any relevant medical conditions or allergies that could affect your safety.

• You authorise the tour leaders to administer first aid and arrange emergency medical assistance if required.

The tour guide is First Aid trained; however, participants are responsible for any medical expenses incurred.

8. Alcohol & Responsible Behaviour

Complimentary post-ride beers supplied by Seven Mile Brewing Co. are provided for responsible consumption after riding has concluded for the day.

Participants must not ride under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

SCM and Adventure Garage reserve the right to remove any participant whose behaviour is unsafe, reckless, abusive or places others at risk. No refund will be provided in these circumstances.

9. Tour Inclusions

Your tour includes:

• SCM tour guide and support sweep rider (First Aid trained)

• Support vehicle with onboard mechanic and fuel

• Transport of surfboards and camping gear

• Two nights' camping at Lake Arragan National Park

• Daily breakfast and dinner (four meals total)

• Light refreshments

• Shared surfboards

• Complimentary post-ride beer courtesy of Seven Mile Brewing Co.

• SCM event T-shirt

• Off-road riding guidance and rider support throughout the trip

10. What's Not Included

Participants are responsible for:

• Fuel for their motorcycle

• Lunches

• Personal snacks and beverages

• Motorcycle insurance

• Personal travel or accident insurance

• Motorcycle repairs and replacement parts

• Motorcycle recovery or towing beyond the assistance available from the support vehicle

• Personal expenses

11. Photography & Media

Photographs and video may be taken throughout the tour.

By participating, you grant SCM and Adventure Garage permission to use these images for promotional and marketing purposes unless you notify us in writing before the event.

12. Assumption of Risk

Adventure motorcycle riding involves inherent risks, including but not limited to accidents, falls, changing weather conditions, wildlife, mechanical failures and remote locations.

By participating, you acknowledge these risks and voluntarily accept full responsibility for your decision to take part in the tour.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, SCM and Adventure Garage, including their owners, employees, contractors and volunteers, will not be liable for any injury, illness, death, loss, damage, delay or expense arising from participation in the tour, except where liability cannot be excluded under Australian Consumer Law.

14. Participant Declaration

By signing the booking form, I confirm that:

• I have read and understood these Terms & Conditions.

• I understand the risks associated with adventure motorcycle riding.

• I hold a valid motorcycle licence.

• My motorcycle is roadworthy and appropriately registered.

• I am responsible for my own motorcycle insurance and personal insurance.

• I voluntarily accept the risks associated with participating in this tour.
